Who We Are To Our Core
Core Values
-
Devotion, Worship & Prayer
Our culture is rooted in intimacy with God. Jesus invites us into a spirituality driven by love, not obligation. At Pursuit College, students cultivate a disciplined devotional life, transforming prayer and worship into cherished spiritual habits rather than burdensome tasks.
-
Community Life
We are called to celebrate, not merely tolerate, those around us. Living in community over one or more years fosters growth in grace and love, equipping students for lifelong ministry leadership. We are the church not in isolation but in unity.
-
Servant-Leadership
Leading like Jesus is about fulfilling a divine mandate, not earning a title. We believe your purpose is empowered and your destiny unlocked, when you discover your identity in Christ. Servant leadership prioritizes humility over self-promotion, focusing on how deeply you serve, not how high you rise.
-
Academic Excellence
Our ministry challenges both spirit and mind. Through rigorous coursework and mentorship from dedicated professors, students are equipped to steward intellect and education faithfully, preparing them for impactful servant leadership.
-
Diligence
Discipleship demands hard work and perseverance. Showing up on time and completing tasks with excellence is essential for those called to transform the world. Pursuit College students are expected to exceed expectations and demonstrate perseverance, reflecting God’s high calling.
-
Purity
Holiness is a biblical imperative for those seeking God’s work in their lives. Students are called to live above reproach, honoring God and others in relationships, online conduct, and conversations. We blend the message of holiness with grace to produce lasting fruit in students’ lives.
-
Spiritual Maturity
We uphold a standard of maturity that reflects our sincerity of God’s work in our hearts. We call students to a higher level of maturity that reflects the depth of our commitment to Christ. Gifts are free, but their development is costly. In this training ministry, there is a price to be paid for godly growth.
-
Teachable Attitude
Growth requires a humble, teachable spirit. Students must embrace correction, pruning, and instruction, even when challenging, and refuse to be hindered by offense. Refusing to be offended and endeavoring to be challenged, corrected, pruned, and instructed is necessary for all students.
Statement of Faith
The Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. (John 16:13; II Timothy 3:15-17; II Peter 1:21; I Thessalonians 2:13)
There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22; John 14:16)
Regarding Jesus, we believe in:
The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 1:1, 14; 20:28-29; Philippians 2:6-11; Isaiah 9:6; Colossians 2:9)
His virgin birth. (Matthew 1:18; Luke 1:34-35; Isaiah 7:14)
His sinless life. (II Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15; 7:26-27; I John 3:5; I Peter 2:22)
His miracles. (Matthew 4:23; Luke 6:17-19; John 3:2)
His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood. (Colossians 1:14, 20; Romans 5:8-9; Ephesians 1:7)
His bodily resurrection. (I Corinthians 15:3-4; Luke 24:4-7, 36-48; Revelation 1:17-18)
His ascension to the right hand of the Father. (Acts 2:33; 5:30-31; I Peter 3:22)
His personal return in power and glory. (Acts 1:11; Philippians 2:9-11; I Thessalonians 1:10; 4:13-18; John 14:1-3)
Justification by faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful man. (Romans 3:24-25; John 3:3-7; I John 5:11-13; Ephesians 2:1-16; Revelation 5:9; Acts 4:12; I Cor. 6:11)
The prime agency for the work of God’s kingdom is the Christian local Church functioning under the sovereignty of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Church has been entrusted with the ordinances of believer’s baptism and the Lord’s supper. (Acts 2:41-47; 16:4-5; Matthew 16:18; 28:18-20; Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12; 11:23-26)
The present ministry of the Holy Spirit which includes: the baptism in the Holy Spirit as an experience distinct from regeneration, with the initial physical evidence of speaking in tongues; His indwelling, by which the Christian is enabled to live a godly life; His supernatural gifting and empowering of the Church for its work, life and worship. (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-8; 2:1-4; 10:44-46; I Corinthians 12 and 14)
The return of Jesus Christ to consummate His Kingdom. (1 Corinthians 15:24; 2 Timothy 4:1 Hebrews 1:8; 2 Peter 1:11)
The resurrection of both the saved and the lost; those who are saved unto the resurrection of life, and those who are lost unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:28-29; Mark 14.62; 2 Thessalonians 1:2-10; Revelation 1:5-7; 20:4-5, 11-14)
The spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 17:11, 21-23; Romans 12:4-5; Ephesians 4:11-16)
God created marriage to be exclusively the union of one man and one woman, and that intimate sexual activity is to occur exclusively within that marital union. (Genesis 2:18, 21-25; Matthew 19:4-6; I Timothy 3:2, 12; Ephesians 5:28, 31-33)
